X5 Requirements and Installation Instructions

Requirements:

  1. Three people to install.
  2. A hammer or rubber mallet just in case you make a mistake on a shelf height.
  3. A black marker (Sharpie Type)

Installation Instructions:

  1. Remove all parts from cartons and set aside away from the area you are installing the system.
  2. Remove plastic bags that cover the posts. You can slide bags off 2-4 posts at a time.
  3. Determine the height of each shelf by measuring the materials that will be stored on each of the shelves. With a black marker, mark the shelf height locations for all shelves where the shelf clips will be installed.
  4. Install the black shelf clips onto the first notch on the bottom of the posts. Note: One end of the post has a hole in the center of it. This one is the bottom. The narrow end of the clips should always face the top of the pole.
  5. Attach the end bumpers to the front and rear tracks by using the supplied Allen wrench and screws. Lay the front & rear track down and connect the middle tracks. Hint: When laying track slide middle track under the front track for an easier connection. You can step on the tracks to make the connection even. When connecting track, always slide the new track under the existing track.
  6. Now you are ready to slide the bottom shelf on to the poles. Lift poles off the ground and the shelf will slide easier. Complete the shelf unit.
  7. Place roller units on the track. Make sure brake system is always facing out.
  8. Place completed shelf onto the rollers by carefully aligning the roller pins with the bottom openings on the shelves. Note: One pin is loose to facilitate adjustment. If a post does not seem to be in all the way, you can use the rubber mallet or hammer on the corner of the shelf to seed the post to the pin. If that doesn’t work, then check pin alignment.

Please Note:

  1. When installing double rows of X5, leave 2” between rows to avoid the brake systems from touching when shelves are sliding.
  2. Load the bottom shelves first.
